Replace written dailies. Each person declares one or two outcomes on Monday, marks confidence on Wednesday and closes out on Friday. The Slack posts are generated for you.
Each person proposes one or two outcomes for the week. The person proposes them, not the manager. Each one names who receives it and what "done" means.
Confidence only. Progress already lives on your board.
Met or not met, per commitment. No partial credit; a not-met commitment can be carried once.
A verifiable outcome one person declares for the week, with a satisfaction criterion: "deliver X on Thursday meeting Z". It is not a task list and not "make progress on X". One or two per person, usually proposed by the person; a manager can also set them for their team.
Dailies duplicate what the task board already knows, nobody reads them, and async standups die within weeks when no consumer is obliged to read them. Three prompts a week (declare, confidence, close-out) carry the signal the dailies were supposed to carry, and the manager gets a summary instead of twenty messages.
Wednesday asks one thing: will you make it? On track, at risk or blocked, plus what is in the way when it is not green. It never asks for progress. Progress already lives on the board; asking for it again is how dailies come back through the side door.
Around 90%. Below that, commitments are too big or the week keeps getting interrupted. A sustained 100% means people commit to less than they can; four weeks in a row at 100% is a signal to commit to more, not a trophy.
Yes, and it should be visible. Mark it at risk on Wednesday and say what is in the way, or cut it and say so in the channel. A commitment quietly dropped on Friday is worse than one renegotiated on Wednesday. A not-met commitment can be carried to the next week once; the same commitment should not appear more than two weeks in a row.
Yes, completely free with no signup. Everything stays in this browser and nothing is sent anywhere. FlowBoard, the app behind it, automates the three prompts and the manager summaries when you want the ritual to run itself.
